All the details your guests will admire when they join you on your wedding day are the result of thorough planning. And planning a wedding can be like taking on another full-time job.
We believe at CAKE STUDIO that the wedding cake is no exception. It is a full time job for us!
Hours of research and planning go into each wedding design, paying attention to each couple's needs.
It's our mandate to include new techniques and design concepts with each wedding cake we create....we want to WOW your guests.
It would be our great pleasure and honor to conceive, create and construct your one-of-a-kind (bespoke) wedding cake.
Here are some tips to make your wedding cake process an easy and fun one.
Q. Are you a retail bakery?
A. CAKE STUDIO is Winnipeg's first and only by appointment custom cake studio... not your usual retail bakery.
Our doors remain closed at all times....only those clients with scheduled consultation times are allowed into the showroom.
Q. Are you licensed by the City of Winnipeg health department?
Yes, we have all the up-to-date permits required by the City of Winnipeg to operate a 1640 sq ft commercial bakery, plus
CAKE STUDIO has two licenced Food Handlers on staff with WHIMIS certification.
Q. Do you offer tastings?
A. Yes, CAKE STUDIO offers a complimentary tasting and consultation for you and a guest.
Q. Is there a charge for the consultation? How long can we expect to be at CAKE STUDIO?
A. There is no fee for tastings. An hour is set-aside for each client. Often, appointments are scheduled before and after yours so please plan to be on time so we have a full hour. Call CAKE STUDIO at 204-775-9378 for your appointment OR fill out a contact form under this section.
Q. What do I need to bring to our scheduled appointment?
A. It is helpful to have made venue, color and floral decisions prior to our meeting. Bring along any elements from your wedding that may assist with inspiration such as pictures of your dress, venue, wedding invitations, color samples, etc.
Q. How far in advance should I order my wedding cake from CAKE STUDIO?
A. We are often booked up many months ahead of time. Since everything we make is fresh and completely customized to each client, CAKE STUDIO only accepts up to a total of 2 wedding cakes per date. The sooner you reserve your place on our calendar the better. Reservations are taken on a first come first served basis.
A general minimum of time needed would be 4-8 months. We definitely attempt to accommodate last minute requests if our schedule allows.
Q. I am not ready to make wedding cake design decisions yet. But, I want to reserve our date so you don’t get booked up, is that possible?
A. Yes. You may reserve your date with CAKE STUDIO with a $350 deposit.
Q. How is payment made to CAKE STUDIO?
A. We accept cheques or cash as payment. There is a $50.00 NSF fee for any returned cheques.
Final payment for your wedding cake is due two weeks prior to your wedding date...no exceptions.
Q. Does CAKE STUDIO provide customary cakes, such as Croquembouche?
A. Absolutely... CAKE STUDIO has even combined a Croquembouche and wedding cake tier for a dazzling creation.
Q. Do you have a catalog or brochure?
A. We do not have a brochure other than our website. Each CAKE STUDIO wedding cake is custom designed so our website serves mainly as a starting point. Please schedule your appointment, to view our show cakes first-hand.
